Paul Garraty, PMHNP, FNPPsychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner
Hello, my name is Paul Garraty and I have been a nurse for 25 years. I am married and have spent most of my life in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was there that I attended Charity School of Nursing, graduating in 1994. I worked as an emergency room nurse at Charity Hospital until being evacuated 6 days post Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We lost our home to the storm and moved to central Louisiana where in 2012, I graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Grambling University. Afterwards, we migrated to the western slope of Colorado where I worked at West Springs psychiatric hospital for seven years. It was there I found understanding and gained empathy of others who have also experienced trauma. It inspired me to return to school where I became certified in psychiatry. As a dual certified nurse practitioner, I understand integrative health requires not only a healthy body but a mind, equally sound. I hope to provide not only a path for good health but also an ear to listen I am passionate about providing patient centered care. My goal is to be “authentically present” with each and every patient. It is important to me to meet you where you are and engage you in your care plan. I believe in treating the whole patient. If your condition requires treatment beyond the scope of family practice, I will help you navigate the world of specialty care.
